- SSA held an Iftar on behalf of the MSA. - * Jazakallahu Khayrine for all the support everyone!
CLUBS WEEK – Wednesday, September 26th, 2007.
* We would like the thank everyone for showing up, registering and supporting the SSA table.
- Informed upcoming undergraduate/graduate students about the services available @ SSA and encouraged involvement to support their Somali Community.
- Pamphlets were distributed discussing matters of what the SSA is? Why they should take part? How it will benefit themselves and their local Somali community?
Upcoming Events:
MOVIE NIGHT - Saturday, November 17th, 2007.
- Open to all students @ University of Ottawa.
- $1 purchase for beverages.
- SSA will be screening the documentary : “The Truth about BLACK HAWK DOWN” and a “Surprise” Somali COMEDY film.
- $ 5 admission fee @ entrance with free bag of popcorn.
- Seating is at 5:30pm and the show will begin at 6pm sharp.
- 2nd screening starts @ 8pm till 11pm.
- Montpetit room: 203.
GUEST SPEAKER – Saturday, November 24th, 2007.
- Discussion will focus on major omnipresent tribal tensions and prevalent issues and crisis’s facing the whole HORN of AFRICA and the future of this East African region.

INTERNATIONAL WEEK
SSA will be showing a half hour performance @ the University Centre (Agora) hosted by the International House. Cultural items will be on display @ the SSA table. Performance will consist of traditional poetry recitation, and different forms of folklore dancing showcasing the Somali Culture.
